Went to Raymond’s last night for our anniversary and I genuinely think it was the best meal I’ve ever had. I’m a chef, so I eat out a lot and this was honestly next level. The oysters were stunning! Super fresh and briny with a proper clean finish. The potatoes with burnt onion were absolutely wild. Soft, crispy and deeply savoury Every dish was perfectly seasoned, rich where it needed to be and light when it counted. You could tell that the chefs seriously know what they’re doing. The cocktails are also to die for! I’m a real margarita critic and these ones were exceptional! Best in Nottingham! Our server was brilliant too, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name but she talked us through the menu without any of that forced restaurant patter. She made us feel really welcome and comfortable. We’ve eaten at their other restaurant Mesa before and liked it but Raymond’s blew it out the water. It’s got the same cool vibe but the food feels more refined and confident. Already planning our next visit.
We had an early 5 PM date night booking and started with six oysters—very lovely and fresh. The Michelin Guide recommended the fish crackling, which was certainly interesting and flavorful. We also had beef tartare on crunchy toasted sourdough—a great dish! The trout with pickled mussels was another standout; I would definitely recommend it. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly; however, I don’t think the dill was necessary, as it overpowered the dish. I feel this dish needs some refining. The wines are all very reasonably priced, with a large selection available by the glass. For dessert, we had the blood orange tart with meringue—highly recommend! The service was excellent. Our waitress, Nadia, took great care of us (thank you!), and we were even fortunate enough to meet the owner.
My son and I came yesterday what a great restaurant the vibe was so chilled. The service was amazing the girl that served us was so friendly. The food was absolutely delicious the presentation was on point worth every penny.we had to order more oysters they just melted in your mouth Definitely returning thank you
We were gifted a Raymond’s voucher to use and wow, what a gift! We went all out with food and wine. We enjoyed everything about our trip. Incredible food, great wines, attentive staff, and we sat in a great people watching spot — we very much recommend Raymond’s as there will be something for everyone !
One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! Hands down the best restaurant in Nottingham. My girlfriend and I went back to Raymond’s for our second visit last night, and we think it topped our first (which we loved). Everything about Raymond’s is just such good quality. From the decor, to the ambience to the cutlery, plates and I’ve not even mentioned the food. We shared a bottle of mine and got 6 plates between us. Every dish delivered in every way possible. The quality of ingredients and technique is tasted in every dish. The waiting staff are also incredible, always make you feel comfortable, looked after and cared for. We shared two desserts to finish, and when we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did. Can’t recommend Raymond’s enough to anyone looking for an incredible dining experience. I would always recommend getting a bottle of wine to share too as it really adds to the whole experience. We’ll be back.
Service was amazing (served by the waitress in the striped shirt and skirt, black long bob hair) , they were super attentive, really welcoming and excellent at recommending/pairing and had great advice/knowledge about the menu ! Food was great! First time having an oyster and it did not disappoint ! Also perhaps one of the best margaritas I've ever had. Would 100% recommend great food, atmosphere and service.perhaps some of the best service I've had.
This place had some incredible food and a super atmosphere. It's small plates, so perfect for trying and sharing a good few things. It was nice to see a good number of vegetarian options on the menu, with one of these being the best plate overall - the maris potatoes. However, everything we tried was incredibly tasty and they combine a lot of flavours with high quality ingredients to make the food exceptional. We are not really wine drinkers but appreciated the selection, with lots of alternatives alcohol, low or soft drinks on the menu. Staff were also very friendly and overall a great relaxed experience.
I sampled the wine and oysters and they were very good. Nice clean, fresh and tasty oysters washed down with a cool crisp white wine. Nice atmosphere with nice background music, pleasant and efficient staff and all at a reasonable price. Many thanks.
